Piedmont CASA Volunteer Picnic 2023
It's one of our favorite nights of the year - a picnic celebrating Piedmont CASA Volunteers. On Wednesday, October 18, we set up in the White Tent at the beautiful Eastwood Farm and Winery. Around sixty CASA Volunteers and their friends and families, along with board members and staff members were there.
Everyone enjoyed Moe's Original BBQ and for dessert, the traditional chocolate chunk cookies from MarieBette Café & Bakery. Piedmont CASA President Kate Duvall and CASA Supervisor Kati Naess announced the 2023 Ruth Stone Advocate of the Year: Becky Minor. Kati gave an emotional and heartfelt speech honoring Becky, who has been a CASA Volunteer since 2011. In that time, she has been an exceptional advocate for eleven boys and girls in the foster care system.
When the sun went down, the air cooled quickly. But before we left, the Piedmont CASA staff posed for a group photo. We are already looking forward to next year!
Big thanks to the Eastwood Farm and WInery for giving us a generous break on the venue cost!
