Help us raise matching funds for a Perry Foundation Grant
818 East High Street was originally built in 1891. While cosmetic upgrades have been made over the years, the age of our building and its fixtures have created the immediate need for operational and energy efficiency upgrades. (Scroll down for details.)
For this purpose, we have received a $30,000 grant from the Perry Foundation. However, we need to raise another $30,000 in matching funds.
The deadline for raising these funds is June 1, 2023.

The Work
Our building is Piedmont CASA's greatest asset and we hope to complete these upgrades and repairs so that it will carry our organization into our third decade of serving children and families in the greater Charlottesville community. The total budget for this work is $54,496.00.
- Replacement of our entire HVAC system (one system for each of our three floors);
- Water remediation in the building's cellar;
- Replacement of two gas powered lanterns on the exterior of our building with solar powered lanterns;
- Weatherizing and sealing the flat, metal roof on the addition to our original building;
- Weatherproofing, repairing, and sealing, our custom front door;
- Replacement of all incandescent (80) and fluorescent (12) lightbulbs in the building with LED bulbs as current bulbs burn out; and
- Replacement of all windows and one exterior fire door on the third floor due to air and water leakage.
